MAGGOTS in my tank?!

Ok so it's been happening for the last few days now, that I've found what look like tiny dried up dead maggots stuck to the side of my tank at the waterline! The first day I only saw about 2 or 3 in one corner, but ever since I've been finding more and more! Could they be coming from my lr??

This is probably not maggots. It is probably due to over feeding or from your liverock. Can you post a a picture so we can maybe get an ID here?

I can't really post a pic right now unfortunately, but I'm pretty sure they are small dead maggots! They have no legs and they are tiny and brown and when I took them out with my finger they felt almost dried out from the inside. Also they're not moving at all I'm pretty sure they're all dead

I really don't foresee a fly laying babies in your fish tank. It's probably a pest from the liverock.

Look through all those photos and see if you can find one that looks like yours so we can figure out how to get rid of it.

I've actually looked through several pages just as the one you posted there and I camt seem to find anything that even closely resembles what I have here. The closest looking one is the first pic in the peanut worms set of pics. Small just like that, similar shape too, except it's NOT that. Plus they are dead.. Is it possible that flies laid eggs in the live rock when it was being shipped to my lfs and now that they're in my tank these are the dead maggots surfacing from the rock?

Look through all those photos and see if you can find one that looks like yours so we can figure out how to get rid of it.

Those ribbon worms look like something that would crawl out of the tank at night and crawl in bed with ya...lol. Spooky huh?

That's really a disgusting thought and I would hope not, however we can't say for sure.

Keep a watch out for any live ones. At night when the tank lights are off get a flashlight and look in the tank any more hitchhikers.

A friend of mine had a large birdeater tarantula that got out of its cage in the middle of the night. Well he told me that he noticed something hairy crawling on his back so he smacked it off his back really fast and jumped up and started stompin it on his floor. Well that was the end of that birdeater. I asked him if he knew it was his tarantula and he said yes he knew...lol.
