My GSP's are in Full Marine!

Post by sgtmyers88 »

Well my GSP's graduated to Full Marine!
Marking this event they received a special treat tonight!

I guess its time to get some Bio-Spira to seed my rock along with a protein skimmer?

They look like healthy little pigs. Are they in the 55g now?

Yes its a 55 gallon aquarium on a wood stand that once housed my goldfish. I am still looking to find a good deal on a 75-150 gallon SW setup.

Here is a video of one of them, very photogenic!

My only concern is the water has been cloudy for the past couple days since the last 50% water change which was responsible for bringing it up to full marine conditions. Have I reached a breaking point in the water chemistry which may have caused a mini cycle? I also noticed a few patches of greenish/grey colored strings appearing on some of the decor in the tank. (grey hair algae possibly)

Just keep a close eye on your water readings, I am sure it will be over as quick as it came on.

Is it ok to keep my plastic plants in full SW that i had in there to begin with? I also noticed my rock is changing color now from the white dry look to a pink, grey, and dark green appearance. The tank looks so beautiful now.

Do you have cured live rock in there? This will help a ton on the tank since it is full marine.

Awesome! And yes I had a couple of fist sized pieces but it looks like they have successfully seeded the dry rock I started out with.

It dont hurt adding some more cured live rock to the tank. I had alot of live rock in my marine tanks. But still had room to swim.

And PP that is a beautiful tank. Love the tomato clown. Well looks it from the angle.

I am actually negotiating with a couple people on Craigslist to get about 20lbs this Friday when I get paid. (it will cost me about $100 at the LFS and I plan to get it for the fraction of that price)

Indeed I totally agree! And I hope to get my GSP's looking like that in a couple years! They are looking so plump and bright colored already I can only imagine what they will look like when they reach adult size!
