Re: My Congo puffer going manic!!!
I only joined YouTube this evening and don't really know what I'm doing
When I go to my videos on YouTube it's there and I can send an email to myself with a link to watch it. The link is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tB86BU&feature=youtube gdata player
What bit of that do I need to put in my post? Or have I done the whole thing wrong?

Great looking fish you have there. Has he done this since you got him or just some times? I know some need time to settle in. This does look like what mine was doing with the sides of my tank.

Re: My Congo puffer going manic!!!
Thank you, he doesn't always do it. It's like something catches his attention every now and then. That's why I thought he could see his reflection, but after reading the topic you started I'm puzzled. There must be something he see's to do with him cos he'll go all over the sides of the tank sometimes, and he's so fixed on it that he'll bump into the heater or filter that are at the back of the tank

Re: My Congo puffer going manic!!!
I had a similar experience. My congo would do that after exposing himself after each meal. Ramming himself up and down the glass. Not sure why he did it, but it stopped once he buried himself or he thinks that I can't see him anymore as he laid somewhere.
Kind regards,
Terrance

Looks normal to me, Donna. Just a nice active Congo puffer, imo.

Re: My Congo puffer going manic!!!
Thanks, so long as people think he looks ok that's good. I'm probably(if not definitely ) paranoid about him as there's so little indepth info on them. I mean it freaked me out the first time I gave him some prawn, he had this huge lump appear underneath him(in the shape of the prawn) and I had to keep checking on him to see if he was ok, feeling guilty in case I'd over fed him(it was only a little slice). Silly I know but I want to give him a happy life and not make any avoidable mistakes, the same I do for all my fish

Re: My Congo puffer going manic!!!
I think they can see thereselfs. When my puffer did it i could see he was looking and reacted to himself, so when he moved a small bit he would then move or puff because he could see himself moving. If you get what i mean lol.

Nothing to worry about that either. It is perfectly normal for them to have lumps in the bellies after eat large chuncks of food, even smaller pieces also. But your Congo puffer eatin froozen or live prawns? I have added small pieces of live earthworm to Misery's diet....

Re: My Congo puffer going manic!!!
Yeah, he looks huge in the video lol.He was at the front of the tank this morning so I got the measuring tape, he's about 3 maybe 3 1/2 inches(he freaked and swam off before I could get a good look). The shop said he was about 5-6 cm when I ordered him so he's grown a bit
He loves king prawns and river shrimp(gut loaded) but I've never managed to get him to eat earthworms, in the end I decided he just didn't like them
How's misery settling in? What colour sand have you got? I went for a light colour 1)cos I couldn't find any red or orange sand and 2) he's never gonna be a red one anyway lol
Here's a pic from when he'd just been delivered to me
