Carinotetraodon irrubesco, Borneo Biotope

Post by puffersmurf »

Hi all, I am heading to Borneo next month on holiday and I am going to check out the local water systems. I plan on getting a red tailed red eye puffer (Carinotetraodon
irrubesco) when i get back. Does anybody know where in Borneo these puffers are found? I plan on setting up a biotope and will take some water samples and photos of the area. I'll be happy to share my findings.

Hey there!

I can't really help you with the location on where the puffers of Borneo are found other than that I've heard they live in heavily planted streams, swamps and other watergatherings.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures for your trip!

Have a good one!

Hi, I am back from Borneo and unfortunately couldn't find any irrubesco. But I have got a couple of my own now. Here are a few photos of the rivers that I found in Borneo and Arthur and Martha. Ther river was fast flowing and very clear. There were a lot of what i think were some sort of Gara Rufa, that muched on my feet when I went into the waterfall in the picture.

Beautiful pics, I bet that was a great holiday...! Thanks for sharing.

Did you take any water samples while there, have any info to share as far as water parameters?
