When is it appropriate to remove biobale?

Just wondering..

When I made a thread about setting up a marine tank, it was pretty much a unanimous vote to get the bak pak 2, but to remove the biobale as it just traps debris/creates nitrates and all that jazz. Then when I received the skimmer, everyone told me to use the biobale, at least for a little while, now I'm wondering when I should take it out, or when its deemed not necessary or even detrimental.

Tank specs:

37g marineland w/ marineland LED hood
FOWLR
CPR bak pak 2
200w heater in skimmer return
2x koralia EVO 750's
50-60lb mixed dry key largo and live bali rock.
40lb live sand bed

Stocking:

1x fuzzy dwarf lionfish
4x nessarius snails
2x dwarf hermit crabs

I might get one more fish and more crabs/snails but not for a while.

I cycled with Dr. Tim's one and only and have not registered a spec of ammonia or nitrite since it's been set up (about 4 months running now). My nitrates do climb a little faster than I would like and sometimes warrant large water changes after only a week, so I'm wondering if I need to take out my bio bale, or if it would be helpful in any way to have it out of there, since everyone told me not to use it with my skimmer before I bought it.
