Yup. I'm sure that J-P is well aware that this is why we do not suggest in-tank thawing of frozen foods. Thawing and rinsing outside the the tank will reduce in-tank pollution significantly. I'd rather avoid pollution than need to remove it.

I thaw in a bowl since there is no way to thaw in tank. I left the water surface with less agitation for the last 2 days. Havent noticed any film yet.

look at it from an angle... with the eye almost parallel to the water surface. If you don't see anything, that is a good sign :)
