Hi all, i m here to share information about Fresh water puffer that i collected from Northern Thailand,The Mekong River.....i m new to puffer,i ve collected 2 species from Mekong River there are Hairy puffer and Abei. Also there is one of the puffer look alike abei and a little bit different, it have light base colour with black spot,will upload the photo here later,i hope you guys like it........

okay guy lets start the trip to Mekong River!! From Bangkok - Mukdahan ,there is no airport in this small province ,i need to took bus from Bangkok 8:30pm - 6:00am.
From the town to that village take 1 1/2 hour drive, let me show you Mekong river from the town

Please share more info and pictures. Did you catch your puffs out of the river? Or are you saying that they were caught from the river by suppliers and sold in store?

Yes,i did catch 8 abei and 1 hairy,there is no fish store in this area. local people used to eat puffer fish when they get it :D

Can pufferfish be eaten :shock: I thought they were poisonous?

look at that place,they are like tarzan and jane,eat whatever they get, lizard,worm etc...

We asked the local what they will do if they get puffer, he answer me: make soup!! :shock:

we only bring 4 puffer back,the rest released back

mmmh... last one almost looks like a M. leiurus, but maybe that's just the picture.
