I finally found a dry food that my puffer will eat. They are called "River Shrimp," and they are freeze dried krill and they have the shell on. Great for trimming his teeth. It is about $7.50 and you get 500+ shrimp. Great idea!

Krill can cause lockjaw if used as a staple food.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

5.5g: Red Cherry Shrimp and Rams
10g: PZ the Pee Wee (DP), Ghost shrimp, Otos x3
36g: Luau the F8, Zebra nerites x8, sometimes a herd of ghost shrimp for food
60g: Perches the starry blenny, 1 watchman goby Snaps the l.c. hermit, 2 emerald crabs, 1 red crab, 2 turbos, 7 asteas, 2 nerites, 2 clown gobies and 2 firefish gobies (upgrading to a 90 gallon reef)

I prefer to feed mine, FD plankton or mysis.

I understand lockjaw. How does eating krill achieve this?

how is those that much different then krill. i feed mine frozen krill sometimes.

Krill as an occasional treat is ok. I do not feed it at all now it has been directly linked to a life threatening condition. Is it really worth the risk?

There are several and I mean several posting on line about this google it! To many people are saying krill causes lock jaw , I wouldnt risk my puffer health .

i dont think there is scientific data to back it up, just personal experiences and many many of them. enough to keep krill out of my puffs diet. i think small "snacks" occasionally are ok, but not often or as a staple at all

I don't use it as a staple food. Maybe one small one a week for treat. Is that alright?

Every now and then is probably? Fine? Like I say and others confirm why risk it. My rasporas and tetras love it so I won't throw it. But won't feed it to any of my fish too often. Don't risk your pride and joy puffer dude
