Feeding emerald crab to figure 8s
Will there be any harm in feeding my emerald crab to my f8s? I have seen the crab reach and try to grab my watchman goby multiple times, and today i came home to him eating my green star polyps... i need to get him out of the tank!!

I don't think they could bite through the shell.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Feeding emerald crab to figure 8s
i have fed these as an occasional treat to my GSP and he had no problem getting through the shell. not too sure about F8 though. anything with claws that you try to feed will try to fight back, so theres always risk. but most puffers will kind of study the crab/crayfish to see where would be best to attack from. but then again some just go straight for the bite without thinking it through lol

Yea I learnt that lol. My fahaka likes a fight, he will only tackle head on so he seems to get clawed alot
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Tear off his snips before throwing him into battle.

I do not believe a F8 is large enough or strong enough to bite into their shell.

Re: Feeding emerald crab to figure 8s
Though I only had a GSP, I would suggest removing the claws before trying. I fed fiddlers and that was the only option for small puffers. Of course PP is smarter than me, so probably go with that

Re: Feeding emerald crab to figure 8s
Although they might not make good meals, they can give a F8 something to do for a day. Take the crab out when death occurs (to the crab of course lol)
Kind regards,
Terrance
