what are the different foods they can eat? other then raw shrimp and bloodworms..

Squid, octopus, scallops, mussels, etc. Many people buy the raw seafood medley from the grocery store and feed what's in them. It's good cheap food for the days that these guys eat soft food.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
