Guys is it possible to keep a foxface with my guineafoul puffer. Or would a clown tang be better
My wife really likes them both and after doing some research into them they seem ok and would be handy for keeping algae down.
Im wondering if there strig on the top fin of the foxface would be a problem with puffer much like lionfish stings. Lfs guy didnt no and the compatability charts say its fine but i dont trust either.

Maybe he's never been stung by one?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: puffer and foxface
Thanks alot he is beautful.
I went to my prefered fishshop today instantly they said no foxface lol.
Its common sence really but all ways good to check with multiple souces. Excited now the tank levels are looking sweet gonna monitor them and look at gettin my first fish in system in the next week or so.
Think a clown tang will be ok as long as it of the larger size as he currently share with a lipstick

Re: puffer and foxface
I had a very sad day yesterday....
My Porky Puffer of 3+ years died.
Cause of death?
They were both happily eating some food when my Foxface took a bite and then pulled back, just barely clipping my puff with his spines.
Problem was, it was very near puff's gills. He immediately started twitching and freaking out, then puffed up really big.
He was clearly at least partially paralyzed, he was just drifting around the tank slowly deflating, seemed barely able to swim.
After a while he rested on the bottom, still breathing and just sat there....
Next morning he was in the same spot, but had stopped breathing.
Even after he died he still had that big smile on his face.
That was very depressing, and even today I'm still bummed out.
I ended up catching the Foxface (which is huge, I've had him for about 5 years) and took him into a local store.
They were very impressed with him and I got a coupon for a big discount on my next fish purchase....
Which will be another little Porky Puff, once they get my order in stock.
Dont let this happen to you. Dont mix rabbitfish & puffers. They get along great and never fight, but all it takes is 1 freak accident and then no more puff puff.
For the same reasons do not mix Lionfish with puffers either. Porky puff's are so wide and fat with soft skin I think it makes them extra vulnerable to getting poked.

So sorry for your loss...
Perfect example though.
