You most definitely cannot keep shrimp in there
I think one female would be fine in a 10gal. I've read that these fish don't do well in anything smaller than 20gal but that was always for a pair. I'd give it a try as you have the option to upgrade if she isn't doing well. I love these guys, they're great fish.
Others have kept these with other select fish but I haven't had luck keeping them with anything. Mine were holy terrors and had to move to their own tank.

It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

thanks, flutter! i think ill leave the shrimp and when she notices and if she starts chasing them, ill move them out. yeah, i was hoping the 10g would be fine for the long term because ive had the best luck with my plants in there. probably because its in front of my window so it gets enough sun!

ok, so the puffer probably isnt an irrubesco, but a palembang which i dont have room for. so nevermind about the irrubesco.
