sand?

Post by blackghostknife »

I had a brackish tank with sand for a while but the sand kept getting algae and sticking together in clumps. How do you keep this from happening in a congo puffer tank?

You got to stir the sand as it will harvest gases.

By moving the sand or mixing it with a stick will help.

Also how long is you lights on ?

Stir once a week with water changes. I thought your mom wouldn't let you have a tank bigger than a 10 gallon?

having algae could mean insufficient upkeeping though. U should be thinking why there's so much algae in the first place.

She softened up. If I pass this year with a 3.8 gpa she said she would buy me a Congo Puffer. I have a spair 30 gallon that I wish to put it in. The grades shouldn't be a problem considering I currently have a 3.5 :D

I was just wondering because I never had luck with sand. Probable because I didn't stir it.
