im new to fish please read and give me ideas
hi, i just recently bought 2 small green spot freshwater pufferfish. and i have both of them in a 10 gallon tank along with 3 other fish. one is a knight goby, one is a rainbow shark, and i cant remember the name of the fifth one. anyway, all the fish are getting along great except for one puffer and the other fish that i dont know the name of. the puffer follows it around and nips at its fins. and they are all in a 10 gallon tank.

First off, green spotted puffers are not fresh water fish, and they require at least 30 gallons of space PER gsp that you have, and are aggressive fish that rarely ever get along with tank mates. You need to either consider a much larger second tank for the puffers, or letting someone else adopt them.

What you might have are GSP or Green Spotted Puffers and they are not FW fish, but high end brackish to full marine . Also, your tank is over stocked as is and GSP grow to be a large fish. 30 gal per one GSP.

Im taking the other 3 fish back and im separating the two puffers. im putting mine in a 20 gallon tank for now and shes keeping hers in the 10 gallon for now. and people have different views on what time of water they need. im keeping them in fresh water for the first couple months. then when they are like 2 months im moving them to brackish.LongGrain wrote:First off, green spotted puffers are not fresh water fish, and they require at least 30 gallons of space PER gsp that you have, and are aggressive fish that rarely ever get along with tank mates.
