GSP???

Post by rosslewisbrown »

I have some puffers and I'm unsure if they're GSPs. I heard that there's a species with the same markings as a GSP but they're freshwater, not brackish, smaller and have a slightly different body shape. How can I tell what I have?

I've had them for about a year in a freshwater tank and they seem to be very happy and healthy. They're about 3 inches long from tail to head but I heard GSPs get to about 6 inches.

So, I have two questions... Do I have GSPs? And, How long to GSPs take to reach full size?

The FW Spotted puffer you are thinking of hasn't been readily available in the aquarium trade in over 30 years. 99.999999% sure you have GSPs:
