I'm getting a DP!

Post by Flutter »

We're rearranging tanks and the bettas are going to split a 20long. Looked at the tank and decided that each fish can deal with 1/3 of the tank instead of 1/2. This leaves a 6.something gal area free. After losing Feight we weren't ready to get a new puffer. I think now is the time. The question is can I find one at this time of year :?

Don't mind me, I'm just excited. I haven't had a DP since high school and I miss the little guys

:ROFL2: I know, I know. But it feels like it's been forever.

We'll just ignore the fact that I'm in my 6th (what on earth was I thinking?!) year of university and I took a year off after high school

Just divide the 10gal and put a DP on the other side ;)

We're going to make lids for each section so the fish can't jump into another part. We'll use plastic mesh and/or screen.

So we went to the store to pick up dividers and the fish. Apparently they never got any in. Thanks guys. Grabbed dividers from another store and figured we'd head to a local store that we never go to. They had DPs! So, picked up a nice healthy looking one and went home. Turns out the dividers do not remotely snug up against the glass edges. Fantastic. We've scrapped those ideas and are simply putting a poor betta free into the tank with no substrate or anything. The puffer can go into the betta tank and we'll have to figure it out another day :(

I wouldn't do that to my betta :( I think the current in the bare tank is too much for him, he's hiding behind some driftwood. We ended up making our own dividers but not sure if we have time to get them in tonight, we'll see. The DP is absolutely adorable. Got back tonight and he(?) was asleep on top of a leaf. So cute. I tried to get a picture with my cell phone but I don't think it turned out.
