From brackist to fw....need to cycle again?

Post by 1puff »

I'm going to be converting my brackish tank(1.003)back to fw. Will it go through another cycle?

Not with that small of a SG change. What's up with the FW change back?

You'll probably want to do it in two stages over a few weeks to prevent a partial dieoff.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Don't bother, that bacteria's been through enough.. Check your hydrometer against your tap water.

What we've been stating is it will not be killed. Doesn't mean they won't get stressed. Stress can kill. Rinsing out the bacteria in your filter media is not a good thing to do at the moment.
