Blue Puffer ID?

UWPHOTO, a Norwegian company specializing in underwater pictures has kindly given us permission to use a batch of pictures.
Subject: Pufferfish (strangely enough).

This mystery Puffer has baffled us.
Obviously an Arothron, but we have so far been unable to identify it.
Location is Myanmar , Burma.

Opinions?

wow, what a gorgeous puffer!

the closest match i can find, would be a dogface. maybe a very diferently marked dogface?

Yeah, it's a beauty isn't it?
My guess is a local colour variation of Arothron nigropunctuatus.

Looking forward to what our Asian members has to say on the subject...

this is my friend in Taiwan "克勞德" said....

as follow.....

黑點狗頭的分佈不但廣...
而且色紋的型態也頗為多變...

但身上零星散佈的黑點...
通常就是最好的標記...
(好像也有極少數例外)

那隻全身"泛藍"的狗頭...
乍看之下...模樣的確怪異...

但仔細一看身上的不規則點狀...
即可稍現端倪...

但若是黑點狗頭...
那為何又會是藍色的呢...
難道是"馬英九"效應嗎...

這當然是句玩笑話...

由此可見...
投靠"國民黨"的黑點狗頭...不在少數...

說笑後..還得來點正經地...

黑點狗頭的膚色會呈現如此異樣的藍色...
推測可能的原因有下列幾點...

1...相片造假...
2...區域/個體的差別...
3...水深/光線使然...

1...在看過那麼多張不同場合...不同個體的照片後...
造假的可能...或可排除...

2...誠如上述...黑點狗頭的色紋型態...委實多變...
說不定真有藍色的品種...若真是這樣...
那這一隻藍色的黑點狗頭...似乎躺錯了地方...
因為牠的形體...完全被背景凸顯了出來...
而讓自己暴露於可能的危險之下...

3...就一般的認知來說...下潛到一定的深度後...
在無其它因素的干擾下...海水會呈現一片藍色...
而若是一般標準灰白體色的黑點狗頭...潛到了這樣的一個深度...
在自然光照下的被覆面...其膚色就有可能被反射成藍色...
或許也跟像機的白平衡作用有所關聯...

這樣上藍下黃的黑點狗頭...
應該可進一步釐清"泛藍"之謎...

背部灰白色部分...反射成藍色...
腰際的黃色部分...及腹部的灰白部分...
在閃光燈輔助照射下呈現出原色...

不知諸位魨友的看法如何...

當然...
個人僅憑幾張照片...又無實務經驗...
所作出上述的幾點推測...
僅只參考就好...
