Re: "Magic" Water Cleaner???
just went through this again... and am on the main site.
I found a number of spelling errors there. The person writes in the same manner as he speaks.
Anything worth publishing is worth reviewing.
another thin that I found dodgy.. I would like to know how much it costs. In the "about us" they have a list of suppliers (I don't know why it is in that category) but the links to the websites are broken:
I can't say it is a bad product one way or another but if they are going to put that much into it at least have a decent functional web site.

Most of the site links don't work.

Hi Arny,
We are currently in discussions with a major distributor in the UK to sell The Water Cleanser for us.
Until he buys stock, we are shipping direct from Australia.
If you can supply information about the volume of water and the filtration you have, I will recommend what size block you require.
Please also supply your postal address so I can quote on postage to you.
Feel free to contact me at any time.

Re: "Magic" Water Cleaner???
The GF is right up there with Scats on the messy and high-upkeep scale. Oscars are not even in the running.
Remember the multiple veggie filters I had to use for the mbu? Those were inspired by what I had to do earlier for GF.
Use minimum display lighting. Duplicate display volume 2x - one same light cycle veggie filter, one opposite light cycle veggie filter. 50% changes all three weekly, MWF. Or use emerse filters for the two veggie filters wit fast-growing plants and harvest frequently for maximum mineral uptake.

Veggie filter ain't gonna happen but I think I do need a 2nd AC 110 on there. I've only had him a month, yet the filter was really, really dirty! I'm also working on feeding him less. I may move up to 90% WC 2x/week, instead of 1x.

Re: "Magic" Water Cleaner???
Veggie filters do eat space and power, no argument there. But the older and lazier I get, I seem to kep fewer fish in more and more water all the time.
If I get the tank room re-done this winter I will be down basically to 3 species of fish plus the retirement tanks of oldtimers. No reduction in total water volume, just lower density.

Re: "Magic" Water Cleaner???
Jeni, that thread green algae is a pain! Once its in a tank its a bear to get rid of.
Only way I've ever gotten rid of it is to massively massively overfilter or add a few powerheads (it doesn't like a lot of current) and manual removal. Do a standard bleach:water 1:10 dip on decor if its removable.
An SAE helps too.. if that's an option. I had the start of some in Matt's tropical tank and as soon as we added the SAE the tank was spotless. Forgot over the years how efficient those guys are!
When I had my 60 gal goldie tank I ran a Fluval 404, lighting was a single 65w CF and I grew anubias, onion plant and some crypts no problem in a cube tank (24x24x24). Fed them lots of skinned peas, oranges, melon, peeled apple bits, etc. Was a gorgeous tank. Of course I did 50-90% water changes every week (or multiple times a week.. I had some dang happy houseplants).
