Brackish to Marine

Post by avettestingray »

I am sure this has been addressed on this site, as it is usually very thorough, but for some reason, none of the links are working. We are at 1.008 for our S.G. and have been bumping it up every couple of weeks (as Carlos seems really stressed right after an increase in salt...so we are spacing it out). I believe we are in low end brackish right now with high hopes of going full marine a.s.a.p. I know there are certain things we need and equipment before we make the change. Basically, I envision having live rock, Carlos, and possibly a tomato clown and a couple shrimp (for snack). Can anyone help me out? I have heard something about a skimmer...?

Of course you´ll need a skimmer, to save some $alt, and also some wave makers to ensure the right water flow... ¿how is your filtration right now?

over the back? i guess is a hang on filter isn't it?
If you are planing to switch out your filtration equipment, I recommend you to change for a Sump filter+skimmer, nothing better than that.
