Thank you!!

I will have to take more...I have been really bad not keeping things updated-- like my blog and pictures. On the other hand, I am right smack in the middle of finals, and this week at work is the last before people can order before they miss the deadline for Christmas...things have been hectic. Been working 40+ hours and prepping for finals....AND

I GOT A NEW CAR!! Well, new to me anyways. CPO Toyota Prius (yay, hybrid!) Going to make going to Hollister alot easier on the pocket book now......

Thinking about getting a lawnmower blenny. Just need to check out the finances to see if I can get one. Bak Pak Skimmer has definitely made a difference-- the water seems clearer, and I have less algae growing everywhere out of control. I checked the nitrates, and surprisingly, they have gone down since I added it on. They are at 0, and before I got it, they were about 5ppm. Other water params are just as great. No foam yet though. Although I did clean out the cups today and got green water and slime on the bottoms of the necks..

Well, it's down to one hermit and I am afraid to get another one. Snaps broke Pig up into little pieces (I found them while moving stuff around ><) and so I know he's one little mean sonuva....

To my delight, Yoshi leaves everyone alone, and even goes to investigate what everyone is doing (the emeralds HATE when she sticks her face in their space LoL). She has hung out with Snaps for a few minutes at a time, just to see what he's up too. So I am hoping the blenny works out. Also hoping that corals are in my future, but the thought of the cost of the lights scare me just a bit....

So I finally figured out Yoshi's coloring (I think) right now, as I am typing, she's a bright, light, yellowish green. Matches the spot on her head. It's when I stick my face up near the tank, or she's getting food, that she does tend to get a bit darker and splotchy looking. The only thing that I can't figure out, is her tail. Luau's tail is clear, and fans all the time. Yoshi's is clear, but it's got gray on it(?). She also doesn't fan it as much as Luau does. In fact, when she zips around the tank, it's tightly clamped. I treated with Melafix just to make sure there was nothing else wrong, and she absolutely hated it. HATED the Melafix being in there. She stayed in one corner and sulked.

Going thru another round of IP treatment. I thought she was doing ok after the first time, but her belly always has that slightly rounded look again, and she pooped out some yellowish white balls...one of them was even an orangey color.

Anyways, hope you all are doing well, sorry I have been MIA. Been super busy. Hopefully after this week, things will calm down so I can breathe every once in a while! Let me know what you all think about the blenny, the tail and the skimmer! Have a great night!

GSP's do often have gray in their tails. It's a good idea not to put any medication in the tank unless you know they are sick. It can deplete oxygen levels and certain fish are even sensitive to the very safe Melafix.

Good to know about their tails. I put it in there partly because I was erring on the side of caution, and partly because she had a spot on her nose from bumping (I think) it on the LR. Either way, she had a spot on her nose that needed to be treated = / I just didn't mention it because after the Melafix, it was gone.

So, I added some extra pieces of dead coral in there for looks, I will have to post up new pictures. =) Looks more like a SW setting now haha. I also got a crab hitchhiker on said pieces! He's red, and Yoshi was sure that he was for her, but he let her know that he was not for eating LoL, and to my pleasant surprise, she left him alone.

Also added a Starry Blenny and he's gorgeous!!! (new pieces of LR, and the blenny were all birthday gifts to myself LoL). He's still getting used to everyone and everything, but I think he will be fine. If you all have any blenny advice, please feel free to post and share it. I am not too sure what to expect with them. LoL, Yoshi was really interested in her new tank mate, but he kept darting away from her, and she eventually got the message hahaha. When I picked him out, I wanted a bigger, older one so he had darting and hiding skills just in case. So far though, Yoshi has absolutely no interest in him or the new crab whatsoever. :twirl:

I also got the stuff I need to set up a cherry shrimp breeder! =) AND I tried live food on my puffs for the first time-- went out and got little tiny crickets....they LOVED them! =D Crickets, bloodworms, snails, brine shrimp and hopefully soon to add cherry shrimp =D Finally, I feel like they have a good, variety diet LoL.

Sorry I have been MIA, still super busy at work. Almost over though, can't wait!

You all have a Merry Christmas and or Happy Holidays!!

LoL that's what happens when your puff comes to you with IPs. That is the only thing that I could think of, 'cause it came out of her butt LOL. She has normal poops now though. That was right after I first got her. It was really gross >< poor thing.

Thanks! =D me too haha. I meant to tell you before now, but I completely forgot...I think it was you asking about the nerites in a BW tank for a F8?? Well, Luau picked on them for a bit, but eventually lost interest because he couldn't get after them. What I thought was tore up flesh on the snail, was actually poop because he was upside down LoL, but last I counted, I still had all 8 of them. Luau is now totally bored with them and loves the crickets I put in there instead hahaha. Maybe you could try a handful in your tank now? Sorry it's so late, but I hope it helps.

thanks, but they pooped way too much in the 10 gallon(so i traded them for credit where i got them) that i dont want snails in the 20!

New pics are in! I have uploaded some of Perches, our starry blenny. That's his tentative name for now. It might just stick....
Anywhoo, he's doing really well, I can definitely tell where he has been eating algae. It's nice, haha. As you may be able to tell from some of the pictures, I am getting tons and tons of different colors of coraline algae The tank is starting to look super pretty. Everyone is doing really well, Snaps is getting big, and the two emeralds seem really happy. The only MIA critter is the crab hitchhiker that came with the dead pieces of coral. I have yet to see him, but we were never sure what kind of crab he was or if he was safe for the tank. He was really small, but very red. The turbos Bull and Dozer are still happily moving around the rocks and eating the algae, and Yoshi of course, seems to be very happy. She's pacing the side of the tank where I am sitting, if I pay attention to her, she paces in the corner closest to me, if I don't, she turns a very bright green while exploring the tank...

I wanted to know what you all thought: I am absolutely convinced that Snaps killed Pig. After observing their behavior a few weeks before I found Pig pieces, they were fighting constantly and arguing and beating each other to a pulp. I am not sure what caused this behavior? Any suggestions? Also, I wanted to add an electric blue hermit....think adding another hermit will cause problems? What do you all think caused the aggression and will it be triggered by adding another hermit?

Also, any suggestions for star fish? I would love to add more critters to the tank, maybe buff up my cleaning crew a bit. Any suggestions for what I can add or should add? Tank is stocked as such:

1 GSP
2 Turbo snails
2 emerald crabs
1 left clawed hermit
1 starry blenny
1 red unknown crab

I don't necessarily want to add fish, I have my puffer and my blenny, but I would love to add different crabs if possible, or some starfish?

Pictures:

http://denzil.smugmug.com/Pets/Puffers/ ... JGVPw-A-LB <-- always thought her tail was grey, turns out it is slightly green with some spots on it
http://denzil.smugmug.com/Pets/Puffers/ ... fXzx8-A-LB <-- Perches, our Starry Blenny
http://denzil.smugmug.com/Pets/Puffers/ ... XZjpQ-A-LB <-- possible coral? Pest or Pet? Just showed up a few days ago
http://denzil.smugmug.com/Pets/Puffers/ ... bSVdQ-A-LB <-- find Perches hahaha

Thanks guys!
