Get a small female (no big claw). Yes, he could force-feed but it's hard with a little fish.

I agree with pufferpunk get some guppies or slow moving fish keep trying large worms small crabs or he will die. You need live food quick for him.

he just ate about half the body of a fiddler crab so we r finaly making progress

YIPPEE!!! for now, fatten him up with that. Then try earthworms. If he remains thin, you're gonna have to treat for IPs, you can inject earthworms with the meds.

actually his stomach isnt sunk in or anything like that he looks ok...if i didnt own him and know how long since he ate i would think he was well fed

i tried to feed him a worm today and he wouldnt eat again...than i remembered i 4got to take the red eye tetra out and after a little search found 1 with a very large bite taken out of his back so i took the rest out and will try dead foods 2morow or thursday

You've got to remember puffers and in particular 'lurkers' can go weeks and weeks without eating. If he had taken something then I wouldn't worry. Keep trying with an earthworm each day. Forget the fish. Live feeders are not necessary when there is enough shell foods available.
