Black Brittle Starfish found in tank - keep or nuke?

Post by El Scorpio »

I found what I believe to be a black brittle starfish under one of my rocks. I know that the green brittle stars can eat other fish, but what about the black stars? Safe to keep or no?

Netting him was the only way to stop Camille from trying to eat him! Even in the net I had to constantly shoo her away from him. Eventually I had to distract her with some shrimp then dump the star next to a rock which he quickly slid under.

thats too funny. my GSP never messed with my chocolate chip starfish. i was worried because of the "chips" that are on them. he did a "taste test" it seemed, lightly putting his mouth around the "chip" and never tried again. almost like "is this thing supposed to be food? *lick* oh god no!!!"
