I was just wondering..in a marine puffer tank, if you can't keep inverts, how do you keep the algae in check, especially since most on this site say live rock and live sand are essential?
120G reef, 72G discus, 30G to be puffer tank, 3G snail tank, 12G multi shell dweller tank

The only reliable algae helper in a puffer tank is you.

Been there, doing that, lots of time with a toothbrush in my hand.

not true it depends on the puffer in SW i have kept algae eating sea hares and sea cucumbers and lawnmower blennies (LWB isnt an invert but yeah) in with my porcs no probs. they definatly keep the algae down. snails and hermit crabs do a great job as well.

It depends, yes, but that's why i said the only reliable one. It only takes a puffers change of heart (or hunger). :p
