black bellys normal or bad fishcare

Post by Cheeto »

okay so i have been looking at alot of vids on youtube of ceylon puffers and i have noticed in every one of them that they have back bellys. they look like they are way older than mine so i was wondering if ppl on youtube just dont look after their puffers or if its normal for them to go dark when they are older

Tetraodon fluviatilis, is a High end BW fish... so, i think that adults must live on 1.016-1.018 SG.
I used to think that puffers specially celyons and GSP get "blackbelly" for anything, but since i rise the salinity to 1.020 (for GSP) "blackberry" issues has gone away for several weeks.

it may be SG problems, but can be something else, i´ve got no direct knowledge about Celyons, so, lets wait for the topic masters...
Let there be light, and lit up the days... Let there be puffers, and they swam around the world...

it is a good question. All of the ceylons I have seen in person are grey to dark as adults but were not kept in the best conditions... for that answer.. I don't know...
