Re: Came Home to a New Tank!
it will hold it. figure out where exactly its over on the main floor and try to put it where it will be sitting on a main floor wall, or up against a wall. if still paranoid you could put a support or two up against (or inside) the wall on the first floor. its cheap to build supports, just a bit of a project if the room your putting them in is finished.Tim wrote:I want a tank big enough for a fahaka, but my main worry is whether or not the floor can hold the weightgoldielocke76 wrote:Hahahaha that would be my thoughts! S. As I would want it near my work area which is on the second floor and the flooring is made of wood.

lmao, we wanted to get a huge tank, believe me! initially when we decided not to get my dad's 55, we were like "let's get a 125!!" and then we remembered why we decided the 55 was impractical... boo @_@

Re: Came Home to a New Tank!
I actually bought a 55 gallon and put it in the back seat of my car. Btw: I have a 2 door. lol I got it in there. The guys wife told my mom: Fish people will do anything for a tank.
I just couldn't believe it actually fit! One way to try it out is get a box....cut it to the size of a 55g tape it up and stick it in your back seat.
If it fit's you're good to go! And I never, ever, ever gave you that idea...

We rearranged the apartment this evening, gotta use those navy muscles as long as they're here! Haha. My dining room is now my office/aquarium room!
gage made me pinky promise to no more aquariums while he's gone. Boo!
Lola is incredibly angry about moving. Is it true that melafix can be used as a stress reliever? I feel bad.

But the reason my dads aquarium probably wouldn't fit is coz its my parents, brother, and dog visiting for a week, their stuff takes up a majority of the room. Not as important as an aquarium, I know!

Re: Came Home to a New Tank!
Is that an eclipse hood with filter and biowheel?
I have the eclipse hood systems 1 and 3.
The filter is pretty weak. I had to add an aquaclear powerhead with quickfilter. Or you can add an external filter.

i am terribly unsurprised, haha.xrayjeeper83 wrote:*is tryin to talk Lola into a big tank so when she moves and decides she cant take it he can have dibs on it*
it's not even the tanks i'm concerned about, really, it's the fish that inhabit them. i have nightmares about trying to drive Lola to California (dying to get stationed on the west coast).
And yeah, the military does cover moving, but it's an allotment. If you have a lot of crap, say, more furniture than you actually need and a ton of, oh i dont know, aquariums, haha, then it's going to cost a lot... possibly more than your allotment. :/
it is. i'll keep that in mind, thanks for letting me know. its the 200 GPH filter, #2 i guess?Terrance wrote:Is that an eclipse hood with filter and biowheel?

So I'm setting up the tank and I don't know if this part is submersible or not, but I'd guess you would know?Terrance wrote:Is that an eclipse hood with filter and biowheel?

Its the filter intake, and the plug goes down into the tank... Oi vey. I mean, so does my heater though, sooo... is it safe or should the water level be lower than where the plug starts?
Anyone else can chip in too please

Re: The Newest Addition: Baby Goldfish
Not done decorating at all, but here he is!

Here's a better picture of him. He's got a frowny-face on.

His name is Harley Ludwig von Wilsonson. I'm not really sure how that happened, but it is. Mostly named after Beethoven. Yesterday I was calling him Harley, but today he seems more like a Ludwig.
He's a mere 1.5" including his tailfins. I've always loved black moors
