Silly Question

Post by jenrkit84 »

I have 2 "duh" questions...
1. I know puffers can be legthal when eaten, what about if a human gets bitten by one?

2. Well, unfortunately, as the ceylon (or so i thought) started to mature, it turns to be an F8 (shame on me), and they don't get along so well (trying to rehome F8), and my GSP has a few tail battle scars. Nothing severe, but you can tell there was a fight recently, will the missing parts of it's tail regrow?

1) bites are not lethal
2) fins will regrow given the right conditions
:)

Thank you, I know the 1st question sounds dumb, but the other day when i reached in to grab to clam shells, the little F8 nipped me, not hard, but i started to worry.

It's quite a shock when they first nip you lol.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Puffers in captivity lose their toxin after awhile. It is a symbiotic relationship with a bacteria that causes the toxin and they don't get the bacteria in captivity.

Lola has bitten me before trying to take a snail off my fingertip. I screamed in surprise and jumped back, she shot backwards and freaked out. We are now both more careful and aware of one another when I feed her, haha. I guess human doesn't taste so good.

LoL it's funny because I jumped too!! And you could tell that Luau hesitated on the next snail. It's funny and entertaining how they learn, and to watch them do so. Luau is totally attached to me, dances when he sees me and even if I can't see him, he sees me and comes out of wherever it is he's exploring or hiding and says hi. When Denzil sticks his face by the tank (glasses, goatee) lol Luau shoots in to his favorite hiding spot and peeks out to see if I am there.

Lola has learned how to grab my attention in new & exciting ways. Her tank is right beside my desk, and as I do my homework she started doing a new kind of "dance," and I was absolutely captivated, haha. I gave her a small snail for doing nice tricks. When she sees Gage, she is mostly uninterested unless she sees food, but for me she'll do a happy wiggle and say hi :)

but uh, ooops? :hijack: haha :P

My cousin has an 8 inch blueline triggerfish that got ahold of me one time, worst fishy-chomp I've ever had, and I've been nailed by everything from bluegill to walleye to northern pike. She uses a radiator hose for water changes, says it's the only thing he can't bite a hole in. :)
