Snail Breeding Tank Setup

I am about to set up a snail breeding tank for feeders but cannot open the link to article on Snail Breeding in the Library. Has that article been removed? I will be adding 25 Ramshorns to get it started. My question is about cycling. Do they need to be added to a cycled tank? Should I just put some Tetra Safestart? My second question is should I quarantine these for a period time before feeding them to my GSP. He is in BW 1.016. Thanks for your help. I have been a longtime lurker here and realy appreciate all of the education on Puffers.

The library and a few other features aren't working right now.

I'm sure technically you should cycle the tank first, but in all honesty, if it was me I'd just throw in some safestart or some other cycling product and call it a day.

You should QT everything before feeding it to your puff. If you want to feed one right away throw it in the freezer for a day or two and then unthaw it and give it to your puff, that way any parasites will die off.

I added the Safestart and snails at the same time. I got 0-0-5 day 1 and .25-0-5 day 2 and now it is 0-0-5 after 1 week so I believe we are cycled. There are many egg sacks on the walls of the tank. How long does it take for hatches and for snails to grow?

Simple set ups are generally good, they are very hardy little critters lol, not sure how long it takes them to hatch tho. But believe me your breeder will soon be full of snails lol

I didnt even bother cycling the tank before adding the snails, they started breeding like crazy and I have hundreds of pond snails everywhere. I think it takes 8 days to hatch.
