Got the Fire because I didn't want to spend the $800 on an IPad. Love being able to read .pdfs, search the web, check email and go on FB. Basically like an IPad, but without the expensive 3G LoL. And cloud storage. Got 2 Fires for less than one Ipad. The Nook Color looks cool too, I just like Amazon more than B&N LoL.

I almost bought a Nook Color the the other night but changed my mind last minute. Instead, I decided to do the responsible thing and bought the kiddo's some Christmas presents instead. Damn, I hate being an adult...lol! I'm gonna research a little more and decide on the nook or kindle after the new year.

I love these pads. I wish I had one. A long time ago, the company WACOM came up with the tablet PC for hospitals etc... they didn't do so well at the time but I really liked them. 15 years later.. wow they are the in thing :)

I've liked my regular Kindle. No backlight, and besides, if I really want color in my books, then I'll buy a big illustrated hardcover edition.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

I personally don't see a point in an ebook reader with an active display. Strains the eyes too much. I have an iPad 2 but I wouldnt use it to read a book.

I thought that that may have been the case but I was pleasantly surprised. I can even read in the car now without getting nauseous. And, I can have as many books as I want!! I haven't been able to buy a ton of books because I have no room for them in my apartment. At least I can buy them and cloud store them.

Kindle has a lending library which is awesome. Haven't fully explored that yet, but I am working on it LoL. Something for me to read in-between buying books so I don't blow my reading budget all at once haha.

I download 99.9% of my books off demonoid.me (a torrent site), and then I buy hard copies of the ones I really like. I read so many books though and the library here is awful, so it's the only way I can keep reading at the rate I do :x

My boyfriend bought me my Nook, and when he got it for me I wasn't even sure how much I'd use it, but right now I'm reading between 100-200 pages a day. It's not a strain on the eyes at all like trying to read books on a computer screen. My nook is one of my absolute favorite possessions. I love that thing so much.
