Where are you located? How long have you had them? Can't you give them back to the store you bought them from?

I am considering getting some puffers and live in Ohio as well. What would be the cost of shipping? I'm in Elyria.

Hey Pufferlover, I live in Dayton too and if you get to a point where you need to get rid of your F8 I have plenty of space to take him and give him a good home with plenty of snails for feeding.
Just curious where you bought your F8s...Jack's or Gerber's?

Re: F8***
I'm set up at 1.005 and I have time Weds evening to meet if that works...I'm close to WPAFB and down the hill from WSU too. I have plenty of ramshorn snails if you need some to maybe start a feeder tank if you don't already have one.
How big is the F8 that you need to rehome? What is his personality? Either way I can House him alone or with my F8 in a 55g.
I'll PM my text info.

Re: F8***
I met pufferlover999 today and took all 3 of his little F8s off his hands.
Luckily I had 6 tetras in my QT that I culled a few weeks ago and the filter was up to speed. The tetras went back to the lfs today. I also had 2 snail tanks going so I moved all the snails to a single 15g and used the other for the new arrivals...It's filter is also fully ready to go.
I decided to split the 3 F8s up and put the fattest on in by himself because I figured feeding would be easier.

The other two got the 15g and after about 20 minutes of glass surfing they went to hunting. I left some small snails on the decor so they were in hog heaven.

They all seem to be healthy and are hunting and surfing the current. I only want to keep one and figure in about 6 weeks the other two can go up for adoption. If not I will set up a bigger tank and keep them till they can be re-homed. So let me know if you are interested.
Thanks again, nick...I hope your plans for a marine tank go well.

Re: F8***
hey....awesome setups. I've been looking into getting live plants for my tank. I only recognize some of those, could you list the plants you have there?
My LFS is getting their stock today and have enquired about several from the brackish plants post on this site. I have crushed coral substrate, if anyone could fill me in on what plants are best for that substrate I'd appreciate it, cos a lot of setups with plants I have seen all have a much finer substrate and I don't want to get something that won't take with my crushed coral.
Also...if I have lots of plants, how would one go about cleaning the substrate around that area? The coral moves around a lot when I vacuum (I made my own siphon out of a cut up soda bottle, tubing and electrical tape since the lfs wanted to charge me too much for something I could easily make)

Re: F8***
I think most of the plants u see there are not real.. other than the bits of java moss... I dun think u can grow any stem/rooted plants when u use crushed coral a substrate.. Anyway most plants dun really do well in brackish, its really a hit and miss.. thats y many prefer to go with fake plants... HTH
