How many snails should I be feeding my young GSP a week? So far I feed snails as 2 meals for 2 days out of the week, so he gets offered about 4 snails one day, and 4 the other, but he usually doesn't eat all of them(they fall in the live rock).
Also, I was wondering if anyone's tried guppies in a marine tank? I have a ton of feeder guppies I'm breeding for my axolotls, and was wondering if I could try acclimating them to the GSP tank to see if they could eat up any extra food. I will not be upset if they get eaten, I have way too many.

Re: How many snails a week?
I try to toss in 1-2 snails a day, due to my snail tanks not yet overflowing with snails. But I think it takes 6-8 pond snails for Pig as a proper meal. I consider mine a teenager at just over 2" tail included.

That entirely depends on the size of the fish and the size of the snails. Just as with other foods, you feed to a lightly rounded belly.
Excess FW snails dropped into live rock crevasses or small spaces may well just be polluting the tank. I would try to avoid that.

Re: How many snails a week?
well I guess I better start upping the snail consumption. So far he's been probably eating 4 or so snails a week. I'm getting a snail population going in another tank at my college, so I'll have easy access to them when i feed. So far I've been bringing snails from home on the weekends, as I'd rather not stick snails in my backpack with everything else.
Thanks!
