Vitamine Brands for our Puffers

Post by RVS »

Hey there! :D

I just wanted to know which vitamin brands are the best for our puffers and why..
i defrost food for my gsp and add some drops of a mexican vitamin brand, so the bottle is empty and i wanted to hear some new orations before buying a new bottle...

So, what do you say? :o

I was advised to use Vitachem and** Selcon (for marine) by sevenyearnight. I have both the marine and freshwater vitachem and selcon. I have also heard about Geltek, but I don't know of anyone on the forum who currently uses it. HTH =)

**my edit. Sorry for the confusion.

Vita-Chem & Selcon are 2 very different vitamin sources. Selcon contains all the amino acids for marine life, V-C contains vitamins & come in SW & FW products. I use both Selcon & V-C for SW creatures, including corals.

Good to know that you use both. I was going to ask that eventually, but I don't have my little puffer as of yet, so I was putting it off. Do you dose the V-C and Selcon directly to the water for your tank life, and the food for your puffers?

Thank you! That's what I thought, but when you mentioned the corals, you kinda threw me off, haha. :durr:

Vitachem AND Selcon, not *or.
If I said or, I goofed. I use both, as PP said, they are different things, cover different vitamins, and Selcon has Omegas.

Sorry, I am sure you did say "and" I just didn't go back and double check. I was going to ask about it again after I got him, but this post came up first. My apologies.

I had always used Vita-Chem (both marine and freshwater) in my freeze dried and frozen foods for my fishes since 1992. That's just what I always used though.
