Very small fry (not puffers) daily to 2-3x daily. Most atre in high-infusoria tanks.
Young fish (including puffers): once daily, 6 days per week.
Young fish at and above 50% of standard length (SL) or total length (TL): alternate days. For puffers, feed to lightly rounded belly only.
Adult fish, at and above 75% of SL or TL: same as young fish for active species. Lurkers go to every 3 days, then some go to alternate 3 and 4 day intervals. A few fish have gone to 4 or 5 day intervals (the one Palembang's I have kept). Re-feed these fish is only when they show some hunting interest.
Concentrate on not overfeeding puffers. Overfeeding is hard on their livers and kidneys. That markedly affects lifespan if frequent. Even F-8s and GSPs slow down in their teens.

I read somewhere that puffers should have some greenery in their diets to help keep their site and eyes clear, true? or no?

Most seafood sections are in the back of the produce dept.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

true. Most animals need a variety of foods, but they also get these in various ways. There are no carrot munching puffers out there

My 2 inch GSP gets a proper meal every other day. But I do toss in 1 or 2 pondsnails every day when he is not looking so he has something to hunt for.

That is a good idea, instead of waiting for Duma to look in the direction of where I am about to throw the snail, should just drop it in and go.Tim wrote:My 2 inch GSP gets a proper meal every other day.
