They are brown with gold swirly stripes. Anyone know what they're called?

I'm sad they won't breed in my FW tank. :( If my LFS gets more in, I'm buying them all!

they will lay eggs in FW but you would need them to lay them on a removable object and move the object with the eggs on it to SW tank to hatch. eggs are a little white spot which actually houses many eggs in it, had them all over one of my tanks before i figured out what they were. I unfortunately do not have a sw tank setup yet to hatch them.

I just got 8 of those from my LFS. Expensive little boogers, but they are pretty. They are awesome at eating algae! I am going to take 4 of them and put them in my SW tank once it's all set up and stable
5.5g: Pond snails
5.5g: Red Cherry Shrimp and Rams
10g: PZ the Pee Wee (DP), Ghost shrimp, Otos x3
36g: Luau the F8, Zebra nerites x8, sometimes a herd of ghost shrimp for food
60g: Perches the starry blenny, 1 watchman goby Snaps the l.c. hermit, 2 emerald crabs, 1 red crab, 2 turbos, 7 asteas, 2 nerites, 2 clown gobies and 2 firefish gobies (upgrading to a 90 gallon reef)

RIP Yoshi, you are dearly missed <3

LoL I paid about $4.00 a piece with tax. For 8 of them, it was $33.49. They are supposedly puffer proof, but Luau is being a turd. = /

I was considering them too, but since Pig ate all 8 hermit crabs recently I am having my doubts ^^;

I've got tons of algae growing on the leaves in my DP tank (sun hits it in the mornings), I wonder if he'd not be able to get to them?

My DP leaves them alone. All four snails zipped around cleaning everything in sight. Tank was almost algae free in about 3 hours. The only thing they can't get, is all the small leaves on all the plants, so I threw in a couple of oto's with fingers crossed, and so far so good. =) PZ leaves everything alone. (Although I did make the mistake of putting cory's in there, and she hated them. Competition for food is what I think she doesn't like, I had to return them before she killed them).

Most nerites are too heavy for stem plants w/small leaves.

I have 2 Zebra Nerites and 1 Tiger Nerite in my BW (1.015) GSP tank. He is pretty small still and leaves them alone. They are great cleaners. They get into the nooks and crannies on my mangrove roots and caves and do laps on the glass.
