Augh!!! PARENTS!!!!!

Post by blackghostknife »

okay so I have insomnia right. and my mom thinks its my brackish tank in my room and so she wants me to move it....but she doesn't want it any where else so I have to sell it. I can get a small 5 gallon or 10 gallon but not keep my 29 :( :( :( :( :( . :x :x   . So here my question, what puffer could I keep in a tank that size?

Do your tank make some noise at night? that could be the problem...

If it doesn't make noise, BW don't affect your sleep at all... you should try to eat smaller dinners, thats what i do and i sleep like a stone just in front of the BW tank.

PS:in a 10Gallon tank, i think you can only kept 1 or 2 DP, no more.
Let there be light, and lit up the days... Let there be puffers, and they swam around the world...

I don't understand, how do they figure a 29 gallon gives someone insomnia, but a 5-10 gallon will not? How does an aquarium give someone insomnia?

it makes slight water noises. and the five or ten won't go in my room it will go in the kitchen. my mother doesn't want any more so called " big tanks " in the down stairs area.

I had similar problem with my parents many years ago when I had 4 tanks in my room using air powered filters. I suggest you try and show how quiet they can be, that what I did. I changed to internal filters with no venturis :) problem solved.

Sounds to me like they are using that as an excuse to make you get rid of your tank.. Water usually tends to have a calming effect. Since you live under their roof I suppose you have to do what they say :(

That trickling water sound is soothing.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I don't think a sponge filter is really up to a dp tank bioload. Smaller dinners and extra daily exercise will help
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

+1 to all above.

Just try some tips from a above for 2 weeks, you will notice the difference...
and if your parents don't like fish?... have you consider that? may be you should talk, but I'm 100% sure on one thing:

An aquarium does not have anything to do with insomnia.. at least for the people i know ñ_ñ
Let there be light, and lit up the days... Let there be puffers, and they swam around the world...

+1 to RVS' comment on insomnia. My bedroom aquarium functions a bit like "white noise" and helps me sleep.

+1 me too. I can't sleep without the tank running now. It's just like listening to the rain, only better, LoL.
