Post by Srkoe »

My mom is getting a Pea Puffer!!!! I'm so excited! Now maybe she'll understand why I love my puffs so much! We got a tank cycling right now! I put a bunch of items from my pea tank in hers and we are going to add some filter media from my tank and hopefully get her new baby Thursday! There are already several snail nom nom's waiting in the tank as a welcoming snack...lol.

How so?
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

i wish my mom could like puffers, she said puffers are fat and looks like sea pigs (indeed, "takifugu" means sea pig, in japanese, so thats not the big deal lol )

But she don't like them, and don't get close to the tank cuz i told her that puffers are poisonous lol
Its good to read that your mom is now on pufferland! pics pics pics!!! when the puff arrives!
Let there be light, and lit up the days... Let there be puffers, and they swam around the world...

I love that you're reeling your mom in slowly, converting her to the religion of puffers. I'm sure she'll love her new DP! Sounds like you have an awfully nice mom who's willing to try to share your hobby with you.
Yo ho, yo ho, a puffer's life for me.

I am a girl...lol! I never changed anything...in fact, this is the first time I've revisited the thread since I posted...maybe a mod changed it? But yes, I am super excited about her getting a puff of her own. She doesn't as much as look at mine when she comes to visit. She thinks they are fat and ugly. I talked her into getting her first SW aquarium about 7 months ago...now she has three. She now wants a 65 gallon after the holidays. I'm trying to get her to buy a Redsea Max. I was shocked when she said she wanted a small tank for her kitchen counter...she fell in love with my 2 gallon Spec and wanted one for herself. Just so happened I had a tank I was going to break down and she pounced on it. I never in a million years would have though she would enjoy fishkeeping as much as she does. She is very OCD and takes pristine care of her tanks. She is perfect to own a puffer. She always makes fun of me when I go to fish stores and see sick puffers because I get so pissed. She tells me all the time "you can't save them all". The first thing she said was that she wanted to go to our crappy local LFS (we never go there, I refuse to support that that place...we usually drive an hour to get our fish) and buy a sick one and bring it back to health. As hard as it is I'm not falling for it. I'm taking her to pick a "healthier" one. The peas at said shop are so emaciated that I don't even think I could get one back to health...and I've pulled some pretty sick puffs off deaths doorstep. I've rattled long enough...I will get pics as soon as he/she comes home!
