Snail Heater

Post by ILoveLola »

Finally broke out the heater for Lola. Until this week, both her tank & my snail breeder have been comfortable and warm without it's use (I live in Florida). The temperature's starting to drop though, and my snail tank sometimes gets as low as 68. It's usually around 70, but even still, it dropped from 74-76 last week. I know the obvious answer is a heater, but I was wondering, is that safe for the snails? Ive heard that fish can burn themselves on heaters, so I would imagine that snails can, too. The slime over everything, sooo...
Thanks!

If they are pond snails they will survive practically anything :o
I had one survive for 4 weeks at 1.015 SG I didnt even know he was still in the tank until one day he decided to come crawling up the glass when I was looking over at the tank. That's when I took him out and fed him to Pig :D.
