Very nice
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Thanks guys!! Well, paycheck did come in, so it looks like Saturday we will be busy getting all of this set up!! Yay!!

So for the LR, I was just going to put pieces of it in the 5 gallon buckets, and rush home to put it in..car ride should be no more than 15 minuets. Denzil's car is lowered, so going over bumps will hopefully make a "flow" in the buckets. With the car ride, and the movement, do you think this will be enough to transport the LR? We have to put lids on the buckets. There is no way around that, and I am looking at 6 buckets, and I don't have "flow creators" for every bucket. Thoughts?

Also, I am going to be filling the tank up half way, then going to get the LR (I just realized that I have to do it this way because if I get all the water, only filling the tank up half way, then leave to go get the LR, I won't have any buckets to do it in lol) then filling the tank up the rest of the way. Can someone please either help with with the formulas (I am poor at math) or link me to the thread so I can get Denzil to look at them? Haha, I need to figure out, how to get the salinity up to 1.23 in the 30 gallons, then figure out how I need to get the rest up after I have already put the LR in....eek. That seems monstrous. Although I am thinking that filling up the tank all the way, then putting the LR in is even worse....

The LR would only need a powerhead if it was being stored more than the car ride, so you will be fine. As for raising the salinity, follow the instructions on the back of the salt mix bucket. My S&S puffer is at .010 SG since I am in the process of eradicating Crypt from his system/tank. When I do my mixing I use one cup per 5 gallons and it is right on the money every time. So I would say 2 1/2 cups per 5 gallons would get you .022-.023, but it varies from each salt mix. Invest in a refractometer if you haven't already, you can find them on CL for 45$. Easiest way to test SG in my personal opinion.

For the trip you will be just fine.

Id go with the 200, looks like its rated for a 65 as a 150 is rated for a 45

Thanks! It should be here on Tuesday. Got my koralias in today. Getting ready to email the guy about the LR to confirm for tomorrow. Going to be doing lots of running around tomorrow!!

**Oh yeah, how do I know how to place the koralias??? LoL any tips or hints would be awesome. I just know that I need flow, and I don't want to create a vortex haha

Awesome! You must be super excited :D
I actually like that sunken ship background, it's kind of spooky.

You just have to experiment with the Koralias, it may take a while to get just the right placement. You want to have a good bit of surface ripple, and also a good flow around the liverock.

I am super excited. A little nervous...but excited.

We really like the sunken ship background too, the only problem is, is we can't find it big enough for our tank. = / So I am not sure if we are not looking in the right places or if they just don't make it. Might have to look at something else if I can't find anything...

I will definitely be experimenting with them. At least I have some time to do it. I thought about putting them on the sides of the tank, but then I kinda don't want them to be seen. If that's not possible, they will just be on the side of the tank then. Uggh. It's so hard talking about it and not being able to fanagle it in between posts haha. I hope you guys are all on tomorrow, I might have tons of questions.

Ah I see, it's 18". What does the glass height measure from frame to frame?

I have to check when I am home. I know it's 21.5 top to bottom, glass and all. I am not worried about the height, I am worried about length. I was thinking about getting one or two and trying to cut and paste them together LoL. I can always get substrate to cover the bottom...haha it would look weird with a foot of tank background missing lengthwise though

Ok, so the glass was 18.5 inches, not too bad, so we decided to buy three backgrounds and piece it together. It looks stupid now, but I hope it won't be to bad when I get some LR and plants in the tank. Here is what it looks like now:

http://denzil.smugmug.com/Pets/Puffers/ ... 9K2x8-A-LB

The fact that we used 3 different pieces is glaringly obvious. Oh well, again, hopefully it won't be to bad with the plants and LR.

Thanks. Denzil really liked it so that is why I tried to make it work. Heck, at the end of the day, the back ground is one of the most expensive things purchased haha just because we needed 3! = / Oh well, he let's me have the tank, so if that is the background he wanted, that's all right with me. I really liked it too. I love the static cling background. It goes on super nice!

Well, finally have the koralias into position. I have no idea what I am doing, so I did what I thought would be best. Here are a few pictures showing their position. OH yeah...t-minus 10 hours and counting!!! Whoop whoop! Hahaha!

Hopefully that will work. I will have to play with it more once I get water in there. Also ordered my heater and test kits today. Amazon is a wonderful place....
