Since this board has been up, we have found there are several questions that routinely get asked in order to help diagnose problems. If you can have that information to begin with in your post, we'll be able to help right away (if we can!) without having to wait for you to post the info we need.
1) Your water parameters - pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates and salinity (if appropriate). This is by far the most important information you can provide! Do not answer this with "Fine" "Perfect" "ok", that tells us nothing. We need hard numbers.
2) Tank size and a list of ALL inhabitants. Include algae eaters, plecos, everything. We need to know what you have and how big the tank is.
3) Feeding, water change schedule and a list of all products you are using or have added to the tank (examples: Cycle, Amquel, salt, etc)
4) What changes you've made in the tank in the last week or so. Sometimes its the little things that make all the difference.
5) How long the aquarium has been set up, and how did you cycle it? If you don't know what cycling is read this: Fishless Cycling Article and familiarize yourself with all the information. Yes. All of it.
We want to help, and providing this information will go a LONG way to getting a diagnosis and hopeful cure that much faster.
While you wait for assistance:
One of the easiest and best ways to help your fish feel better is clean water! If you are already on a regular water change schedule (50% weekly is recommended) a good step to making your fish more comfortable while waiting for diagnosis/suggestions is to do a large water change immediately. Feel free to repeat daily or as often as you can, clean water is always a good thing! Use of Amquel or Prime as a dechlor may help with any ammonia or nitrite issues, and is highly recommended.
Note - if you do not normally do large water changes, doing a sudden, large water change could shock your fish by suddenly changing their established water chemistry. Clean water is still your first goal, so in this case, do several smaller (10%) water changes over the next day or two before starting any large ones.

You can also in the mean time, raise the salinity in his current tank by 0.002 a week. If you are not wanting to set up a full marine tank at this time, you could just transfer everything in his current tank over to the 55, wait about a week to see if your parameters hold, and raise the salinity by 0.002 a week.
Also double up on the Prime to protect him from the higher nitrates.
As far as this drip system, is the water going into his tank untreated tap water? If so, the chemicals they add to our tap can kill fish, that's why we use products like Prime. If I've misread this, just disregard.
Krill isn't something you want to feed your puffer, it causes lockjaw. Try earthworms, very nutritious, hard to resist.

Re: Plz Help
Found him dead today either from not eating or nitrates not sure. I am frustrated because I did all I knew. As for treating water for a drip system you run it through a chloramine filter, no way to filter nitrates but the drip was on my community tank so 40ppm for cichlids not as bad. Sorry if I was harsh I just wanted to save him like all of you did thank you for helping me even though I was a jerk. Guess I have plenty of time to cycle the 55g now.
Ps I didn't know 30ppm would kill him, or that he wont eat krill. Least I know now they have to east fresh food.

Re: Plz Help
I'm sorry you lost him.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Re: Plz Help
cycle up that 55 and get yourself a new friend! you know now what you didnt know before and will only make the next experience better. i cant talk, i lost my GSP almost a year ago and i turned around and sold my set up. i have no animals now, which isnt normal for me. but i had too much time(almost 3 years) and effort put into this one puffer that it felt wrong to replace him. i will get more eventually, but i definitely somewhat regret selling my tank and most supplies, i just dont have the time right now to put into another puffer and setup

Re: Plz Help
Check out my vitamin C dosing chart in the SW forum. Carbon dosing like this can reduce nitrate.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Plz Help
He's in a 20 gallon FW tank, and your nitrates are a little high, and he should be in at least 1.010 salinity, but for now immediately speaking, continue with the suggested large partial water changes to keep the nitrates under 20.
You are asking about setting up his 55 as marine, read this article, it should answer any questions you have. http://www.reefland.com/forum/saltwater ... arium.html
This process shouldn't be rushed.
