And with the lack of size of the F8 its only a matter of time till the eel see's him as food

well i have had the puffers and the eels in the tank and they dont bother each other i think the eel knows hes poisonous so they get along just fine its been about 6 or 7 months together without a problem ever

You could get a used 20-29g setup on Craigslist for scratch and I bet in Miami they are cheaper than here in OH. If the F8 had his own tank you could add a few bumblebee gobies as tankmates...BBGs are awesome little fish that are a hoot to watch.
