Do I need to dechlorinate RODI water?

Does the RODI unit take the clorine out of the water?

IF the RODI unit is well maintained (carbon replalaced as needed), seven is correct. If it is not, all bets are off.

I got water from a store once and I had a cyanobacteria bloom after. Never getting water there again! Lol

it doesn't mention chlorine. Maybe the DI portion does that? ** I have yet to set mine up ....

No - your carbon prefilter removes the chlorine prior to the water reaching your RO membrane.

GAC does a good job of chlorine/chloramine removal if it is still competent. If it is fully loaded, it does not. In other words, if you "assume" that it is working but do not either test or use anti-chlorine/chloramine additives, you may just kill your fish.

Your choice.

In general, carbon blocks are a far superior remover of chlorine than GAC. Blocks are composed on PAC (powdered activated carbon) and they last longer and remove chloring much more efficiently.

Remember however that if you use a carbon block, you should install a sediment filter ahead of the block to prevent the block from clogging.
