T. schoutedeni?????
T. schoutedeni?????
Yesterday I popped into a local LFS to check what puffers they had." A tank full of Fig 8's" I was told. Alas on closer inspection there were at least 12 or so GSP and not Fig 8's. However four of the puffers I did not recognize. The GSP were obvious but not so these. The water was BW and these four looked quite different to the others. Although they looked a little 'rougher looking' I was not convinced that they were GSP. Although it was a flying visit I concluded that they had to be and left.
However I woke this morning to find this on ebay. Again I not too sure of the authenticity of this but the pic used is the puffer I saw yesterday sharing the GSP tank.
Your thoughts?

The pic is on ebay but you have to pay shipping. The local LFS has them for I think £6.00
I will go back Monday armed with book magnifying glass, camera, pc, web cam(make sure you lot are on line) lol and check the little guys out again. Funny at the time I was thinking these are different but if I go with T. schout. in mind then probably I'llhave a better idea of what they are.

The pic on ebay is a T.schoutedeni. As for the fish you will receive? Well its ebay isn't it!
Will go to the LFS tomorrow for a better inspection to see exactly what theirs are. I am swaying now more to them being GSP due to the fact they all came in together and it would have meant the wholesaler grouping two puffers from different parts of the world together.Unlikely I think.

Would love one but its ebay after all. There is always the chance they are incorrectly identified. The auction is for two of them. Not a bad price if alls well.Jager wrote:so rocker you gonna try and snag one ? thats not a bad price for a puffer at all.

Possibly T. duboisi, Rocker? the one I kept for a while was fairly active and did look similar to the aqualog pic of schoutedeni. Patchy on the back. Either way, if it's a puffer that you can't ID then you should get them so as to further investigation into this matter!

When I got there yesterday they only had 5 GSP left in the tank. I asked about the others amd was told that they had sold them over the weekend.I wandered round and then asked someone else and they told me that half of them had died overnight.
I didn't get to see the 'four' again but they must of been really sick GSP's. They had no colour at all compared to the others.Ah well!
