Orchid Dottyback...IP's?

Post by Srkoe »

My mom got an orchid dottyback today. It pooped in the bag and it's poop was white and looked like a string of pearls. Are they typically wild caught? She was kinda chewed up (she was being attacked by a damsel). We have her in the QT tank and treating her with Melafix. As far as the poop can we treat in the same manner as we treat IP's in puffers? Does this sound like IP's? I have no idea what dottyback poop is suppose to look like...lol!

Im FAR from knowledgeable but I dont see how it would hurt to soak the food in IP meds like a puff

I agree, the LFS here treats all the wild caught fish for IP's just the same method as we do for puffers.

What fish is it with? The dottybacks are VERY aggressive, territorial little fish!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
