water changes
water changes
okay so i have a 75 gallon tank with one gsp in it. The tank and water is only 2 weeks old. Anyways I check the ammonia and nirate and nitrite levels everyday and everyhting was good till today! The ammonia was between 0.25 through 0.50 ppm (this is based on the color from the master freshwater kit). I did a 50% water change immediatly. Then I put one capful of prime in there. Is that what I was supposed to do? Basically my question is, when I do water changes do I use prime and if so how much? Otherwise, I have stresscoat+ should I use that instead? Or something else?

Re: water changes
You should always use Prime when adding tap water to the tank. The amount to use is printed on the bottle. You can double that dose. Test your tap water for ammonia, if it's zero, do 50% water changes daily until the ammonia stays at zero.
