I'm going on year 19 on a vegetarian diet. And 5 years sober. That's not the same as straight edge, I've met my idiot quota and then some before getting here.

My screen name is the title of my ex-band, then online music collaboration, and currently on hiatus music project until I get a new computer because mine fatal errored yesterday. Blue screen of death after almost 9 years of service.
The name itself signifies one of the 7 year life cycles, "night" symbolizing the unknown.

well mine is not as funky ... J-P is what my co-workers call me because my name is Jean-Pierre. Being in a bilingual country with people that can't pronounce French (the official second language) is a little of a bummer.

Mine I got in grade 7 It was based on a nickname from a book I liked.

Ha! Mine's from grade 8 (I think, as it was 15 years ago). Geronimo was a Native Warrior or something from the 1800s. So, me being Métis, my buddies started calling me Geronimo. Has stuck ever since. I even have it custom stitched on 3 hats... (sorry, I guess thats totally irrelevant lol)

I'm a diehard goldfish keeper, though, and my username on a goldfish forum is RanchuDressing (ranchus are a type of goldfish).

That's awesome! I'm 21 years sober and clean but only 7 years proclaimed "Straight Edge". Where i live the vegetarian diet is so hard to do. There are no whole food markets and all "vegan" stuff is hella expensive at the store. I'm more of a pescetarian than a vegetarian. I eat tuna on occasion. Definitely no red meat or anything else. Whole food diets are so good. imo

What's straight edge?

I'm not really sure, my coworker at Guitar Center a few years back tried to explain it to me. I just don't really understand what it means. I know someone who considers themself Straight Edge doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs, but he said it has something to do with being part of something or another. I didn't really get it. I don't drink, smoke, or use drugs for my own health and for my family, I think being Straight Edge has something to do with a trend or group. I don't really know, because the dude's explanation was so incredibly vague.

Vegetarians eats eggs and dairy things, it's vegans that don't eat anything that is processed from an animal, even honey!!

There's different kinds. If you eat meat (the flesh of dead animals) then you aren't a vegetarian, period. An ovo one will eat eggs but not dairy, lacto will have milk products but not eggs, there's also ovo-lacto. Vegans won't eat or use any animal products whereas vegetarians will use animal products.

I eat mostly fruit and veggies but I do eat meat on occasion, therefore I'm an omnivore

Ya straight edge means no drink, drugs, smoking, nothing harmful to your body. I typically think skaters, rockers, etc when I think straight edge. I think it was a group of skaters/rockers/etc that wanted to show that they were not like the others so they came up with straight edge and the X

My husband is the rule breaking pescetarian. I'm not much on eating dairy, but I will consume it occasionally. I'm also lacto-ovo. I know a lot of people get vegan and the sub-types vegetarian mixed up. Vegan is a tough diet to keep balanced and healthy. It's easy to get deficiencies.
