Since this board has been up, we have found there are several questions that routinely get asked in order to help diagnose problems. If you can have that information to begin with in your post, we'll be able to help right away (if we can!) without having to wait for you to post the info we need.
1) Your water parameters - pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates and salinity (if appropriate). This is by far the most important information you can provide! Do not answer this with "Fine" "Perfect" "ok", that tells us nothing. We need hard numbers.
2) Tank size and a list of ALL inhabitants. Include algae eaters, plecos, everything. We need to know what you have and how big the tank is.
3) Feeding, water change schedule and a list of all products you are using or have added to the tank (examples: Cycle, Amquel, salt, etc)
4) What changes you've made in the tank in the last week or so. Sometimes its the little things that make all the difference.
5) How long the aquarium has been set up, and how did you cycle it? If you don't know what cycling is read this: Fishless Cycling Article and familiarize yourself with all the information. Yes. All of it.
We want to help, and providing this information will go a LONG way to getting a diagnosis and hopeful cure that much faster.
While you wait for assistance:
One of the easiest and best ways to help your fish feel better is clean water! If you are already on a regular water change schedule (50% weekly is recommended) a good step to making your fish more comfortable while waiting for diagnosis/suggestions is to do a large water change immediately. Feel free to repeat daily or as often as you can, clean water is always a good thing! Use of Amquel or Prime as a dechlor may help with any ammonia or nitrite issues, and is highly recommended.
Note - if you do not normally do large water changes, doing a sudden, large water change could shock your fish by suddenly changing their established water chemistry. Clean water is still your first goal, so in this case, do several smaller (10%) water changes over the next day or two before starting any large ones.

Yes, they are tropical fish and do prefer warmer water, but what you described was the equivelant of 86 F, which is the highest you could go when treating for ich, and even then it can cause problems. You are better to stay below 80 F.

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
I have revert back to 27degree now.
Seriously, the instructions on the dewormer said 30-32...treatment over a 7-10 days period..
Btw, I am still using epsom salt. Do I continue?

Lol, I believe you about the instructions. I don't know what to tell you about the epsom salt, but I would definitely get some praziquantel or metronidazole to treat his IPs. Just soak his food in a solution of it and you should be good to go. Increased temperature doesn't affect IPs that I know of, and would only be useful for treating Ich, so I don't know why it would tell you to increase the temperature unless it also had ich medication in it. Since it doesn't list the ingredients, it could have formalin or other harmful anti-ich chemicals in it, so I would definitely not use it again lol.

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
I would even bring the temperature down to 25C. Make sure any temperature changes occur slowly though. Perhaps 1C every 2 days.
I wouldn't use that medication again and would do some large water changes to get as much of it out of your tank as possible if you haven't done so already. It's OK to keep using the epsom salt, it won't hurt anything but remember it's only added once. If you want to add more after a water change for the new water then that's fine.

It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Thanks, will be visiting the pet store tmr for the med.
Btw a quick question, for my nitrate problem, will it be further reduced if I were to add on another canister? ( after bacterial colony had established in this as well )

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
Best way to remove nitrate is with WC. What filtration do you have on there now? I have multiple filters on all my tanks >40g.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
ok, I just blew ard $300 on another canister and media running at 2000L/h.
Direct comparision on the size suggested that the original canister I had was seriously under power...

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
ahh he's just a little guy at that.
Would it be possible to add another tank either above or below? Kind of like a sump where you can increase the total water volume? I can see that the tank isn't drilled so you would need a pump and an HOB overflow box.

A sump tank.. hmm.. My wife's going to screw me if I were to get another tank..
But I attempted to diy a Media reactor using this product call Pura Nitratelock today.. Nightmare!! the media back flow into my tank!! But after many attempts got it to work..
He's happy to see me today. Seems to recover.
Will monitor and update. Couldn't find the IP med at my fish store. All the dewormers has no labels.. have to try some other place.
Gotta start saving for a bigger tank..

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
Ok so he seems happier for now. These guys get to around 27", in a 4x2 tank he will probably get stunted which will lead to shortened lifespan with many health issues. Are you going to be able to upgrade soon somewhere else in your home? Now dont think i am trying to bash you but i am ocd on stocking levels and w/c. I currently have a Fahaka in a 5x2 tank and desperately want to upgrade.Until then i would up the w/c schedule massively.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
Hi, went to a couple of fish shops today but couldnt find the med.. They have many types but either with ingredient content or does not have the 2 ingredient... Anyone can let me know of any brand so that it can be easier to identify.. eyes crossing after looking through bottles after bottles of minute wordings....
