Lol, how rude? No snail!? Well I never!ILoveLola wrote:Ahahah! He's such a cute sulky little thing though! Lola doesn't sulk, she tantrums. If I ever have the audacity to lift the hood of her tank and I do not present her with snails, she has a fit.sevenyearnight wrote:My little Balki is such a weenie

Re: New Tank for Balki!
Balki has found a rock to lay in front of and sulk.

He's eating just fine, and he swims a little tiny bit in the front of the tank everyone once in a while, but mostly he sits in front of this rock and sulks. It's pretty sad. Orangjello on the other hand LOVES the new tank and is swimming all over the place, around, under, through rocks, he picks up sand and spits it out, he's found the current from the powerhead along the back wall, and he swims in the "cave" against it for fun. He is having a great time. He appears to be mindful that Balki isn't adjusting as well as he is, and he seems to make it a point to go over and check on him, and hang out with him for a little while, but then he swims around the tank again.
I took a little video of Orangjello one of the times he came over to check up and hang out with Balki. I've never really noticed Orangjello to sift the sand, but Balki would do it all the time. Orangjello has been picking up the sand around Balki, and even dropped some on his head once, almost as if he's trying to get him out of his funk. Like, "Oh man, you don't know what you're missing, this sand sifting is the surlaW!" He swims off for a little while, and comes back again.
I just peeked around the corner, Balki is still sulking, and Orangjello is still baby sitting him.
Oh yeah, and Orangjello is pronounced like Oh-RON-gelo, sort of like Michael Angelo.

Re: New Tank for Balki!
At least Balki has the courtesy to sulk where you can see him, and not hide in a corner somewhere. Of course, perhaps that's the point -- I mean, what's the purpose of sulking if nobody notices?
That tank is puffer heaven.

Yo ho, yo ho, a puffer's life for me.

Re: New Tank for Balki!
HAHAHA Pufftastic, it's like he's trying to make me feel bad! I know Orangjello seems to feel bad for him lol.
Thanks pufft and puffp!
I just want Balki to be happy and healthy, he can be whatever size, he's still my little wienie. I'm pretty certain he's afraid of the background, he doesn't venture to the back of the tank much at all, and he gives it "I don't trust you" shifty eyes.
Since he is in such a great mood, I guess I decided to add just a little more rock and moved them just a tad. I think this is how I'll keep it for a while. Maybe.
The photo is crooked for jazz.

Re: New Tank for Balki!
I'll sing to him,
"Sometimes the world looks perfect,
Nothing to rearrange.
Sometimes you just, get a feeling
Like you need some kind of change.
No matter what the odds are this time,
Nothing's going to stand in my way.
This flame in my heart,
And a long lost friend
Gives every dark street a light at the end.
Standing tall, on the wings of my dream.
Rise and fall, on the wings of my dream.
The rain and thunder
The wind and haze
I'm bound for better days.
It's my life and my dream,
Nothing's going to stop me now."
