Mystery: Missing Fish

Post by Pufferpunk »

One by one, all my fish nave some up missing in my 10g hex. I noticed the 3 Vietnamese loaches weren't in there anymore. Then I saw algae growing on the glass & noticed the otos were gone ( there were 3), except for one & that one's gone now too. Then I couldn't find one of the DPs. Now the other DP is gone & the tank is empty!

No on both. If I had sucked them up in the Python, they would have gotten stuck in the drain strainer in the basement.

This is a true mystery then. If I had checked the filter and substrate, but could find no signs of decaying fish or bones, I would start looking at my pets and asking them who did it. We had a cat that luckily never caught anything, but could open the lids on my smaller tanks. I'm very interested to see if you find out who/what is responsible for this massacre.

No luck there? Maybe aliens changed the ph of your water to 1 and they dissolved, or were just taken, experimented on, and placed on the moon in a fishbowl. Hmm... I'll need to consult my magic sticks on this one.

... ....

What? Neither theory? Cold case then.

I had a goby go missing...tore the tank apart...he was nowhere to be found. Happened right around the time "the rapture" was suppose to happen...we like to think Mr. Goberson was a "chosen one".

Pufferpunk, I apologize. While I realized the fish were all missing, it was insensitive of me not to attend to the fact that they had most likely passed away. I'm sorry for your loss.

I really would guess another pet or person if it had happened to me. I can't fathom how else they would be able to disappear from an enclosed tank. Especially in such a small tank, where they would be fairly easy to keep track of.

If they died, I would have found bodies. Any time I observed them, they were all healthy.
