Ok here is my dilemma my wife bought a Lettuce Sea Slug yesterday , When I got home from work today he was dead , Murder I tell you there were body parts everywhere! I'm doing an Investigation to find the killer , the suspects Nimble Spray Crab ( main suspect) Domino damsel, Pistol shrimp , Peppermint shrimp( Treo , could be gang related ) , or Watchmen Goby . Other There are tank mates are a Candy anemone ( not likely , but suspected in a disappearance of a black damsel ) , Clown Fish Pair , Striped Damsel and a Yellow Damsel . Any information Please let me know !

I heard through my contacts that it was a invert, sorry cant get more info then that though

Maybe he died on his own, and they attempted to eat the body, but he doesn't taste good.

Thats a good point there are many botom dwellers who may have tried to clean up.

aren't they spectacularly poisonous? as in wipe out huge tanks type poisonous?

Hmm lets hope not. Wouldn't all the tank mates be dead by now?
I've not read anything that says they're poisonous, something about being photosynthetic, if that's how that is worded lol, but not poisonous. They look like colored pencil shavings.

I dont think there poisonous , I looked them up last night after the wife had added him ,lol . Sounded neat hes an algae eater and likes to work the live rock. I didnt think about maybe he just died ! I jumped right to murder! Maybe worth another look into ! Very cool looking invert.

Thats what he looked like before its untimely death! Wifes not happy , her $ 15 loss, lol .( But I told her you live and learn! next time look into them before you buy)

If he's supposed to eat the algae he is camouflaged to look like, wouldn't he starve without that type of algae? Maybe he was already 35 colored pencil shavings in the grave when she bought him.
