Now Annabelle was not totally covered in Ich so I'm not sure how well it would work if she was. She had about 30-40 white spots on her body, I caught it early. If you tried it let's hear your story. If this worked for you it may be a good thing to suggest for folks that have puffers with ich for fast relief. I've been testing my water and it has not effected my param. Amm. 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0, Ph 7.4. All normal for my tank. It also says safe for saltwater. I haven't tried it on my saltwater tank so I can't tell you if it works. Anyway let me stop blabbing and let's hear your story.

Ich Attack
Has anyone ever tried Ich Attack? Annabelle was showing signs of ich, she was basically slamming herself into the driftwood. She had scratches all over her from doing this. I also saw the guppies in her tank doing nose dives into the sand and also slamming into the driftwood. A fellow boxer told me about Ich attack so I figured I would give it a try. It's totally organic and even safe for inverts. I turned up the heat on her tank to 86 degrees. I accidentally tripled dose the first day. I didn't realize it until the next day so by then I didn't even have time to panic. After reading the bottle again and figured out what I did, I single dosed from then on. I've only been using it for 6 days now, but I have to say I think this stuff really works. She has no white spots, no slamming into things, no scratches on her body, and the guppies are all normal again, they're not nose diving into the sand anymore. Also I noticed last night that there are still some ghost shrimp in her tank that are doing well, eating, swimming and avoiding Annabelle at all cost. I'm just curious if anyone else has ever tried it.

Wow that's good to know. I'm happy that it was an accident with a happy ending.

Re: Ich Attack
Interesting, I have to try this. I have a minor ich outbreak in my tropical display tank that raising the heat alone isn't helping. Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Ich Attack
I realize this thread is 2 1/2 years old, so feel free to be upset if you wish, but feel like the topic is worth revisiting.
I just tried Ich Attack for the first time after a little fiasco in my breeder tank spread ich to 3 of my puffer tanks. They only had 2 or 3 tiny white spots (I'm always looking), but after only 24 hours of using Ich Attack, all of the white spots on my GSP, Fahaka, and 3 SAPs are completely gone. I will continue treating for a week, but have been very impressed so far. I did raise the temperature to 81-82 degrees F, but didn't raise SG at all. It did turn my water quite brown, although in all fairness, the water was already a little brown due to tannins from some new wood. My GSP and SAP tanks aren't nearly as dark. I did notice a slight ammonia spike, even though the tank is fully cycled. This may be due to the "herbs" breaking down.
This is just a sidenote, but I'm almost positive my ghost shrimp are the ones who spread the ich. I was under the impression that crustaceans couldn't get ich, and none of my crayfish ever have, but the ghost shrimp had the exact image of ich spots all over their tails that I've never seen on them before. I'm going to do some experiments in a betta bowl to see if it actually is possible for shrimp to get ich.

Re: Ich Attack
Learn from what? That shrimp can get ich? It's not like I'm giving my puffers feeder goldfish. There was no doubt whatsoever at the time that the shrimp were completely safe. Everything I've heard until now is that crustaceans cannot get ich, so there was never any worry. Once my fish started showing a few spots though, I looked carefully for the source of the infection, and that's when I found spots on my shrimp.

Re: Ich Attack
I used this on my Fahaka when salt did not work. I've also used it on guppies with great results. I used it on my SAP's but they both died. I don't feel that their deaths were related to the product though. It was my first experience with Ich that salt just would not treat. This Ich killed all 5 of my bleeding heart tetra within two days of first symptoms. It killed my 1st SAP within 5 days of symptom onset. On the 7th day I used the product on my tank for my remaining SAP. he was acting better by the next morning but by the time I got off work that night he had passed. I believe I waited to long to treat with the product. It worked wonders on my Fahaka. I would have be devastated had I lost Ares. It was hard on me to Lose Tito and Patron. I give this product a thumbs up. However I will always try salt/heat first. If things worsen or show no change within a few days I turn to Ich Attack. Whatever killed my SAPS wad REALLY bad though...it hit hard and fast

Re: Ich Attack
Although it's a tried and true method, I like to avoid temperature raising if I can. I put it up to about 82, but I don't feel comfortable going to 86, especially with a puffer. At 80 degrees, this stuff really seems to be doing the trick in my tanks. Only time will tell I supposed.

Re: Ich Attack
Crustaceans cannot support Ich.
I only very rarely increase the temp to 86F for puffers. I have seen too many oxygenation issues at elevated temps with them under those circumstances. 80 -82 is my usual temp. I hold for two weeks after the last spots clear rather than just 10 days at the higher temp. I prefer my fish to keep breathing.
